MFSM - Slovenia - March 2017 |
On Sunday 26th March 2017, Scotland played a World Cup 2018 qualifier against Slovenia at Hampden Park in Glasgow. TACC invited some disadvantaged young people along to the game as part of the "My First Scotland Match" (MFSM) programme, they were a group from Route 81 in Garelochhead. Clearly their support made the difference to enable Chris Martin to slot home his 88th minute winner! Each child received a match ticket, a Scotland shirt, a Saltire flag and £10 to spend.
Does TACC make a difference to Scotland's kids? Here's some of what Route 81 penned to their local newspaper in Helensburgh:
A, 16 - I was really happy at the chance of getting to go to a Scotland match because I have never been before. I was excited to get this experience and was emotional when I got my first Scotland top. It was really good at the match and an amazing experience and the best bit was the late goal! It meant a lot to me to be able to be there! Thank you! Was a wonderful experience!
M 15 - I am very excited about attending my first Scotland game because I have never experienced this before. God bless TACC! The atmosphere was amazing and it was a good last minute goal.
N, 16 - It was emotional to be part of this trip, thanks for this unbelievable opportunity. The match was amazing, with a great atmosphere and was really good day out. Chris Martin's last minute goal was the highlight. Thank you TACC for such a great day out.
