Team Scotland-Wembley Wheelers Print E-mail

2013-WembleyWheelersTeam Scotland-Wembley Wheelers intend cycling 447 miles from Hampden Park, Glasgow to Wembley Stadium, London in August this year to support Tartan Army Children's Charity (TACC).

The team is made up of four Scotland football supporters Gareth Holmes (45), Rory Holmes (18), Andrew Hossack (19) and Andrew McBurnie (18) with Christine Holmes providing support on route.

They plan to set off on Friday 9th August to arrive in London in time to watch Scotland play England at Wembley on the 14th August.

The plan was hatched during an eighteen and a half hour coach trip returning from watching Scotland play Luxemburg!!! It seemed like a good idea at the time.

schottisches_werderAs part of a Scottish Werder Bremen fan group, Chris Cadman and 2 friends are cycling to Bremen in April to raise funds for TACC & BHF - Why? Unfortunately 1 of the 3 lost his bro to a heart attack two months ago and wants to raise funds

To help get donations flowing the Schottisches Werder guys have made this great prize available - any individual donating £10 gets entered into a prize draw to win a weekend for 2 in Bremen (inc 2 match tickets).

In addition if a Company wishes to make a donation of £500 or more they this will get them a weekend in Bremen to offer to their employees.

The plan:

Led by Stuart Doyle (29), this mammoth expedition will involve running 300 miles in 10 days while dribbling a football.

Stuart and his team of 3 hardy adventurers will run 30 miles a day from John ‘O Groats to Hampden to raise funds and awareness for TACC

The motivation:

Stuart is an avid explorer who recently cycled 3000 miles from Greece to Scotland to raise money for St Columba’s hospice. He describes himself as honest, easy-going, immature, practical and tolerant and keen footballer who ply’s his trade Edinburgh Southern. Stu is a bone-fide Iron Man who pushes himself to the limit and he and his team are absolutely committed to raising as much awareness and funds for TACC as they can.

Edinburgh Marathon Print E-mail

Ian and Greg are running the Edinburgh marathon this year (26 miles each, none of your easy relay stuff this year!) and have decided to run it for the Tartan Army Children's Charity who raise money all year round for disadvantaged children in Scotland and in the countries they visit to watch Scotland play.

If you would like to sponsor us, thank you very much, any donations will be gratefully received and will hopefully push us on in those horrible last 7 or 8 miles.
