TACC Ambassadors Project Print E-mail

TACC Ambassadors help the charity connect to, and work with, key sections of our business, supporters and geographical communities. Their experience and expertise in their own community helpa drive the charity forward in creating a brighter future for children.  TACC Ambassadors increase awareness and knowledge of TACC and expand the reach of TACC to benefit children in more communities in Scotland and beyond.  The major aspect of this role is to get the TACC message out into the communities of Scotland and to be enthusiastic.

In August 2012 the internationally renowned Scottish singer songwriter Amy Macdonald became the first TACC Ambassador.

Amy commented:

“I am really delighted to become a TACC ambassador, the work they do to support disadvantaged children at home in Scotland and abroad is an inspiration and I am delighted to play my part in driving this work forward.

Singing the national anthem at Hampden Park in front of 52,000 supporters is so special and that is why I was inspired to write Pride. I hope the Scotland supporters like it and I hope it conveys how much it means to me to perform Flower of Scotland in front of them.

I look forward to working with TACC as an Ambassador and being part of the team”.

Since then we have recruited a number of other TACC Ambassadors who are driven to make a positive difference to the lives of children who need it most.  Each of our retiring Trustees has accepted the opportunity to join our growing group of Ambassadors to continue their fantastic support for the charity.  Another of our Ambassadors is "Robbie", probably recognised the world over.  Robbie is a key member of Clan Derby and has been instrumental in raising funds locally for the charity in addition to supporting and attending many of our Overseas donations.  Keep it up Robbie !!!.

The TACC Ambassador role varies according to your location and is flexible to take account of what you are happy to and/or are able to do, so you could be involved in some or all of the following activities:

• Distributing promotional leaflets
• Supporting and / or organising TACC fundraising initiatives
• Promoting the charity and its work among local communities
• Providing general support to the Charity when required
• Co-ordinating public and match day collections
• Attending cheque presentations or local events on behalf of the Charity
• Identifying and developing potential fundraising opportunities within local groups
• Identifying suitable charities / organisations that would benefit from TACC grants
