TACC Kiltwalk and 'The Kiltwalk' Print E-mail

TACC are proud to have created and managed the original TACC Kiltwalks in 2010 and 2011. These 2 events, run by TACC, were done so on a 100% voluntary basis so maximising the benefits gained from the sponsorship earned by the amazing participants.

As the event grew in size it meant that, realistically, TACC could no longer run it within our 100% voluntary model. Because of this TACC took the tough decision to pass the reigns over to a new charity called The Kiltwalk.

In 2012 and 2013 TACC continued to benefit from the main events, along with new charity partners.

In 2014 charities had to apply to be charity partners. TACC applied to be a partner for both the Glasgow Kiltwalk (which was the “traditional” and original TACC Kiltwalk) and the Speyside Kiltwalk but we were not successful. 'The Kiltwalk' then offered TACC the chance to become a partner for the Aberdeen Kiltwalk.

Late in 2014 TACC made a decision to step back from future involvement with 'The Kiltwalk' and decided to cease our relationship as a partner charity. The time, resource demands, the reduced financial return and The Kiltwalks subjective awarding of grants meant the TACC trustees decided to focus on other ways of raising funds.

This meant that after the 2014 Aberdeen Walk, TACC would no longer be involved directly with any of The Kiltwalk events.

TACCs involvement in all events organised by 'The Kiltwalk' is now at an end.

TACC is no longer involved in the organisation or management of these events and TACC is no longer a charity partner.
