Inspiration_Award_320x240In 2009 we set out to find a young person who would inspire us, and in turn inspire Scotland’s supporters. Our choice was Sean Mason from Addiewell, who suffers from cerebral palsy.

Sean’s prize was to be the mascot at Hampden against Czech Republic, and to receive his trophy from Craig Levein.

TACC Footea Club
TACC are proud to announce the launch in April of the TACC Footea Club.
Each Friday evening at Spartans Community Football Academy in North Edinburgh, local children and young people are invited to play football, enjoy a hot, nutritous meal, and spend time with their friends playing pool, WII etc. The children live in one of Scotland most deprived areas and are referred to us by local agencies that work with disadvantaged children.
The concept was developed by Spartans and TACC. Spartans manage the programme and provide the facilities and staff, while TACC have provided a grant to fund the programme throughout 2010.
It's a project that we hope to introduce to other deprived areas of Scotland later in 2010.

TACC / Aberlour Childcare Trust partnership

The Tartan Army Children’s Charity (TACC) is delighted to announce it’s partnership with Aberlour Childcare Trust.

Aberlour is the largest solely Scottish child care charity, working with children, young people and families who need additional support, to promote their development and well being. Its activities include:

Children and families affected by disability
Children and families affected by drug and alcohol abuse
Children and young people affected by physical and sexual abuse

TACC will kick off this new relationship by inviting 32 children from around Scotland and supported by Aberlour to the Scotland vs Northern Ireland and Scotland vs Norway matches at Hampden Park. See My First Scotland Match

We will also be launching a Christmas present campaign, encouraging fellow Scotland supporters to help bring a little happiness to children supported by Aberlour this Christmas.

Aberlour’s Chief Executive Addie Stevenson comments “We are so proud to be supported by TACC, our children and young people are very excited about seeing their first Scotland match. As Scotland’s largest children’s charity, our ethos goes hand in hand with Supporting Scotland, supporting children.”

For TACC this is an exciting new partnership, continuing to help Scottish children as well as those we help overseas.
