How was your donation used?

“We had an amazing time at winter wonderland in Edinburgh, and we like to thank you for organising this for us”

In November 2012 TACC made a donation of £10,000 to Includem to be used to make Christmas better for Scotland’s most vulnerable young people and families.

£9996 was allocated to project staff who had requested the following assistance for young people they worked with:

Christmas tree & decorations for 16 families -“I had my first ever Christmas tree and other decorations. It looked great especially with this being mine and Sarah’s first Christmas together….thanks very much” Karen, 17 yrs, mother to Sarah’s 6mths

Christmas hamper & Christmas dinner for 31 families – “We didn’t know how we were going to manage, it’s been hard since we took Scott in, & his granddad lost his job. Now I don’t need to worry” Mary, kinship carer for Scott, 14yrs

Christmas gifts for 21 families – “I can’t begin to tell you what a difference this will make. Mum knows this will be her last Christmas & hasn’t been well enough to do much for her family” David, Includem worker for a family of 5 who have all be diagnosed with the same genetic condition that mum has. The children know they will be separated when mum dies.

Christmas outings for 47 families“ It was the first time I felt as if we were a family” Ryan, 14 yrs after outing to Panto with Aunt & Uncle who are kinship carers for him & his brother.

In total £8957.83 was spent on ‘A Family Christmas’.

It has been agreed with TACC that the remaining £1033.37 will be transferred into Includem’s Young Person Fund.

This fund is a separate trust, overviewed by Includem, whose trustees administer any donations, payments and fundraising monies. The purpose of the fund is to provide young people and their families with activities and experiences they would otherwise not have access to.
