In April 2010 TACC launched the TACC Football Club with a project at Spartans in Edinburgh which ran across several years.

 

Each Friday evening at Spartans Community Football Academy in North Edinburgh, local children were invited to play football, enjoy a hot, nutritous meal, and spend time with their friends playing pool, WII etc.  Spartans named it the FooTEA Club.

 

The children lived in one of Scotland most deprived areas and were referred by local agencies that worked with disadvantaged children.

 

The concept was developed by Spartans and TACC.  Spartans managed the programme and provided the facilities and staff, while TACC provided grants to fund the programme.

 

The programme extended to other activities including rock climbing, fencing, arts & craft and indoor games.
