In 2009�

� TACC donated �8,500 of Christmas presents for children supported by Aberlour Child Care Trust. Supporters donated a massive �4,000 which TACC matched so that every child on the list got a present from us.

� We also donated �500 in December to an appeal for 2 years old Ross Anderton from East Lothian, who suffers from a cancerous tumour on his eye. We wish you well Ross.

� We took dozens of disadvantaged Scottish children to Hampden to join the Tartan Army for their first Scotland match. For more details see My First Scotland Match

� You helped us raised an amazing �60,000 for children in South Africa. This will be donated during the World Cup Finals (even though Scotland didn�t qualify), to children orphaned by Aids and HIV, and to a project for Street Children. More details of the donations will be available in the New Year.

We're delighted to announce that TACC donated �8,500 of Christmas presents for children supported by Aberlour Child Care Trust. Supporters donated a massive �4,000 which TACC matched so that every child on the list got a present from us.

Many thanks to everyone who made a donation, it was a fantastic effort to a great cause.

My First Scotland Match

These are the newest recruits to the Tartan Army - children from Aberlour's Bankfoot Service in East Lothian.

All profoundly disabled, the children were TACC's guests at the Scotland vs. Macedonia qualifying match in September, seen here being piped onto their minibus by local supporter Keith Souter.

And the children obviously brought the team luck on their big day out as they cheered Scotland to victory!

TACC Inspiration Award 2009

This year for the first time we're presenting the "TACC Inspiration Award" to a child in Scotland whose story inspires us.

They may have overcome difficulties such as illness, disability, difficult family circumstances, or any other disadvantage, perhaps achieving something despite their difficult circumstances.

Anyone can nominate a child they know: parents, family, friends, teachers or carers.

Sex & the City star praises project funded by Tartan Army

Sex and the City star, Kirstin Davis, who is an Oxfam Ambassador, has spoken on her visit to a key Oxfam project in South Africa, which is being now supported by the Tartan Army and Oxfam Scotland.

Ms Davis�s support comes as the Tartan Army Children�s Charity launch a text fundraising action. All week, starting today, you can text TACC to -----, allowing you to help fund the vital work being done in South Africa to assist vulnerable children and young people.

Each text will be charged at �3.

TartanSkopje - Update

TACC�s away match donation was in Skopje, Macedonia in September 2008. Following discussions with the British Embassy we decided to help these two worthy causes.

1 - "Snezana" - Friday 5th September

We presented �4,000 worth of basics such as winter boots, shoes and slippers, clothes, socks, sports equipment, hygiene supplies and books & school equipment to "Snezana" - a day care centre for street children.

2 - "Topaansko Pole" - Saturday 6th
We presented �8,000 to fund renovations to their toilets and bathrooms and buy new beds and matresses.

In total we donated �12,000 to these great causes for children.

Scottish FA backs the Tartan Army Childrens' Charity

The Scottish FA today adopted the Tartan Army Childrens' Charity (TACC) as one of their nominated charities for the coming season - and immediately donated �2,500 to their South African Orphans appeal.
