On Saturday 8th October 2016, Scotland played LIthuania at Hampden Park Glasgow as part of the World Cup 2018 Qualifying Campaign. The result was disappoinitng, but for some youngsters it was still a great evening. TACC invited some disadvantaged young people along to the game as part of the "My First Scotland Match" (MFSM) programme.
One boy was from East Lothian and attended with his father and the other 6 were from Braehead Primary School in Ayr. These children took part in a Fit 15 challenge where they were asked to take part in an activity that involved them being active for 15 mins daily. This was an initiative run by the schools Health and Wellbeing coordinator who's objective was to try and get more children from this socially deprived area more active with their families. The coordinator approached TACC to ask if a MFSM place could be used as an incentive for the children to take part. TACC were happy to oblige and the lucky six won their place to attend the match after successfully completing the challenge!
They all received their match tickets, Scotland shirt, Saltire flags and pocket money and were extremely excited about their big day out.
