In 2013 TACC partnered with East Fife Ladies Football club to run a TACC FC football project in Leven, Fife.  East Fife Girls and Ladies Football Club are an SFA Quality Mark Club with over 120 members and teams at under 9s, under 11s, under 13s, under 15s, under 17s and others.

 

"Our club currently has members from all over Fife.  The majority of our football provision takes place in Leven because the demand for our community services is so high there.  Our pitch and training ground are located in two of Levenmouth’s poorest areas where children often suffer from neglect." said Elizabeth Anderson from the East Fife club.

 

"Becoming part of the growing TACC FC program allows us to help those most at need and vulnerable in our community.  It helps realise our community club vision.  Within our girls setup we are actively supporting girls who are full time carers, have addicted parents, have anger and self esteem issues, school attendance and self harm issues.  The TACC FC club environment allow us to focus our efforts more on those who need our support."

 

The East Fife Girls and Ladies Football Club TACC FC project is for young people, run by young people and fully supported by the qualified coaches.  Each coaching session is planned and delivered by the young leaders but supervised and supported by the lead coaches at the club.  A hot meal is provided for all children and young people attending the coaching sessions and offers a chance to socialise with positive role models.

 

TACC's funding was ~£14,000 and including a small contribution towards a one week trip for East Fife Girls to Catalonia for football coaching.  TACC also supported a visit to Marr Hall for the East Fife Girls to watch the Scotland Women's National Team training and meet the players.
